
Opera Omaha & Omaha Symphony to Join Forces for Beethoven & Bartok

In a statement, Omaha Symphony President and CEO, Jennifer Boomgaarden Daoud said, “This collaboration with Opera Omaha offers audiences a truly one-of-a-kind live experience. From the compelling vocal performances to the immersive projections that transform the Holland Center stage, patrons will be swept into an evening that’s emotionally charged, visually stunning, and musically electrifying. With Beethoven’s monumental Fifth Symphony opening the program, this is a concert you won’t want to miss.”
Opera Omaha’s General Director Allison Swenson added, “We are thrilled to collaborate with our musical partners, the Omaha Symphony, to perform Bartok’s masterpiece, Bluebeard’s Castle. The concert will first see the Omaha Symphony perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 and followed by Opera Omaha for “Bluebeard’s Castle.” Russian American conductor Lidiya Yankovskaya takes the baton for both pieces, with acclaimed singers Ryan McKinny and Michelle DeYoung in “Bluebeard” set with immersive projections by David Murakami.
The evening will be presented on April 24 and April 25, 2026 at Holland Performing Arts Center.
