As Strike Continues, Opéra National De Paris To Perform Concert Version Of ‘Boris Godunov’
By Francisco SalazarThe Opéra National de Paris’s strike will affect tonight’s performance of “Boris Godunov.”
The company announced that due to the strike, tonight’s performance of “Boris Godunov” will be replaced by a concert version (chorus and soloist singers in a single costume, no sets).
The news comes after the ongoing strike that has affected numerous performances. As a result of the change, the company is offering ticket holders a purchase voucher amounting to approximately 50% of the price indicated on the ticket, valid for one year, to use for tickets of any performance.
Tonight’s performance of “Boris Godunov” will be conducted by Vladimir Jurowski and is slated to star Ildar Abdrazakov, Evgeny Nikitin, Evdokia Malevskaya, Mikhail Timoshenko, Maxim Mikhailov, and Boris Pinkhasovich. No news on how the strike will affect Verdi’s ‘Il Trovatore” on June 30, 2018, though other performances in the run have featured costumed concerts.
