
Opéra National de Paris Announces ‘Opéra d’Été’ Series for Summer 2026

The Opéra national de Paris will present free outdoor screenings of two Puccini operas as part of its annual Opéra d’été series.
Claus Guth’s production of “La Bohème,” conducted by Gustavo Dudamel and featuring Nicole Car as Mimì, Aida Garifullina as Musetta, and Atalla Ayan as Rodolfo, opens the opera screenings in France at the Centre culturel René Char in Digne-les-Bains on June 16, followed by the Théâtre François Villon in Vesoul on June 25.
July screenings include stops at the Cinéma Le Méliès in Pau on July 15, the Théâtre Georges Madec in Audierne on July 16, the Château d’Anjony in Tournemire on July 17, the Barrage de la Touche-Poupard in Exireuil on July 23, Fort Delgrès in Basse-Terre on July 24, Fort Fleur d’Épée in Gosier on July 25, the Parvis de la Seine Musicale in Boulogne-Billancourt on July 26, the Place du Mercadial in Saint-Céré on July 30, and the Square du Boulingrin in Chaumont on July 31.
August brings screenings at the Auditorium du Village 92 in La Léchère on August 19, the Musée de l’outil in Wy-dit-Joli-Village on August 22, the Place de la Castre in Cannes and L’Éphémère in Quimper both on August 27, and the Espace art et culture in Yquebeuf on August 29.
Then comes Robert Wilson’s production of “Madame Butterfly,” conducted by Speranza Scappucci and featuring Eleonora Buratto in the title role, Stefan Pop as Pinkerton, and Christopher Maltman as Sharpless. This opera screens in France beginning July 16 at the Palais des Rois de Majorque in Perpignan and the Square du Boulingrin in Chaumont on July 17. Further July dates include the Théâtre Robinson in Mandelieu-la-Napoule on July 20, the Espace Fontaine in Montauban on July 26, and the Auditorium du Village 92 in La Léchère on July 29.
In August, the production screens at the Jardin de la liberté in Saint-Denis on August 8, the Collège Marie de la Tour d’Auvergne in Thouars on August 20, the Jardin anglais in Auvers-sur-Oise on August 26, and the Espace art et culture in Yquebeuf on August 28.
Both operas will also screen internationally through partnerships with the Alliance française and Institut français networks.
“La Bohème” screens at the Alliance française de Philadelphie on June 12, the Alliance française de Lima on June 4, the Institut français du Liban in Beirut on June 9, the Alliance française de Carthagène des Indes in Colombia on August 20, the Alliance française d’Halifax on August 23, the Institut français d’Édimbourg on September 18, and at venues in Montenegro on June 25.
“Madame Butterfly” screens at the Institut français in Bujumbura on June 9, the Alliance française de Lima on June 6, at venues in Montenegro on June 19 and 24, the Alliance française d’Halifax on August 9, and in Cuernavaca, Mexico on September 5.
