Opera Naples and the Opera Naples Guild are set to present a Filmed Operetta Festival.

The festival will include Kalman’s “Countess Maritza” on April 7. The screening will include an introductory lecture by host, Bill Edgerton. Cash donation bar available.

The film presents one of Kalman’s most famous works which showcases the Austro-Hungarian approach to this musical genre.

On April 12, the festival will present Offenbach’s “La Belle Helene” from a recording in Zurich.

The operas will be screened on a 16′ x 36′ HD screen at the Wang Opera Center. There will be intermissions in both screenings.
