By David Salazar

Opera Naples has announced #30DaysofOpera.

The showcase features free performances, in-school programming, educational workshops, and a fully staged production of “Iolanthe” on Feb. 3, 2024.

“Our Resident Artists Program allows us to bring music directly into our local elementary schools and after-school programs, with music enrichment that addresses head on the growing bullying crisis in our schools,” said Robin Shuford Frank, Chorus Master and Director of Education and Community Outreach, in an official press statement issued by the company. “We are proud of our Opera Naples Youth Company outreach to our local Senior Centers and free community events. Our education and community programs also benefit from our strong relationship with the Bower School of Music & the Arts at Florida Gulf Coast University and Director Dr. Krzysztof Biernacki, which allows collaborative performances and events.”

There will be a free performance on Jan. 20, 2024, at Wang Opera Center entitled “Opera Night: Shining Stars.” It features 2024 Opera Naples Resident Artists. The Resident Artists will then headline “Stop, Bully!” in local elementary schools, after-school programs, and community senior centers.
