Opera Modesto will present Dvořák’s “Rusalka” at the Foster Family Theater at the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto, California this April.

Prague-based American soprano Bree Nichols takes on the title role opposite tenor Jason Nichols, who is her husband, as the Prince. Annalisa Winberg directs and Caleb Yanez Glickman conducts.

Leading up to the production, the Prague-based couple will perform a recital on April 7 at 7 p.m. in the Music Building Recital Hall, presented by MJC Friends of Music and Opera Modesto.

A free virtual event, “Meet the Stars,” featuring Nichols, Nichols, Winberg, and Glickman, is set for April 8 at 7 p.m.

Performances of “Rusalka” are scheduled for April 24 at 7:30 p.m. and April 26 at 2 p.m. The opera will be sung in Czech with English supertitles.
