Opera Memphis Announces Partnership for ‘Christmas Fiesta’

By David Salazar

Opera Memphis is joining forces with Cazateatro Bilingual Theatre Group to showcase “Christmas Fiesta.”

The event, which is slated for Dec. 18, 2021, will feature holiday tunes in both English and Spanish as well as an opportunity for guests to mingle and try out new food, unique crafts, and family activities.

“I can’t think of a more perfect organization to partner with than Cazateatro Bilingual Theatre Group,” said Bethania Baray, the Director of Education and Civic Programs at Opera Memphis. “Creating a Christmas celebration seemed most fitting when thinking about our vibrant Latinx/Hispanic community. We hope that this year’s event brings a feeling of home while allowing audiences to be introduced to a taste of opera.”

Opera Memphis will also continue its “Drive-Thru Caroling” program on Dec. 11 and 12; that program commenced in 2018 and continued even through the COVID-19 shutdown in 2020.

The event was made possible by the support of AutoZone and ArtsMemphis.
