TellTale Opera Theatre to Present Double Bill Workshop of Two New Operas

By Afton Markay

TellTale Opera Theatre, a newly formed nonprofit dedicated to the development of expansive contemporary opera‑theatre, will present a double bill workshop performance of the new operas, “Rabbit Season” and “Take Me Down.”

The evening will feature original works by Baltimore‑based composers Meg Huskin and Michael Mills. The two operas explore themes of loss and love within family dynamics, including coping with the death of a parent, learning to stand up for one’s beliefs, and discovering how to come home when both individuals and families have been irrevocably changed.

“Rabbit Season” by Huskin with libretto by Sarah Perret-Goluboff and “In Take Me Down” by Michael Mills feature local opera artists and musicians, including Music Director Rhys Burgess, pianist Stephanie Baird, and vocalists Tara Dougherty, Amanda Densmoor, Kayleigh Sprouse, and Daryl Yoder, among others.

The performance will be held at 2640 Space, Baltimore on May 2, 2026.
