Baton Rouge-based Opéra Louisiane has announced that Kathryn Frady will be its new General Director.

Frady will commence her tenure part-time in June 2022 and will take over full-time in August 2022.

Frady started her work as an arts administrator in 2013 when she founded Marble City Opera, where she has been Executive Artistic Director for 10 years.

Additionally, Frady has worked as a director with such companies as New Orleans Opera, Opera Carolina, Wichita Grand Opera, Knoxville Opera, Cleveland Opera Theater, Ft. Worth Opera, and North Carolina Opera.

“I’m looking forward to continuing Opéra Louisiane’s long history of financial stability and musical excellence through culturally enriching performances and programming,” said Frady in an official press statement issued by Opéra Louisiane.

“OLI is very excited to have Kathryn join our Company as our new General Director to help guide us in our continued pursuit of bringing the wonderful world of opera to the residents of the Greater Baton Rouge area,” added David Kelly, who will be the company’s incoming Board Chair.
