Opera Hong Kong Celebrates 20th Anniversary with ‘Opera Gala’

In celebration of Opera Hong Kong’s 20th anniversary the company will put on “Opera Gala” at the Hong Kong City Hall on August 25 – 26.

The two programs consist of arias and ensemble numbers from Opera Hong Kong’s repertoire. Soloists include sopranos Bing Bing Wang and Nancy Yuen, baritone Sun Li, and Opera Hong Kong’s Artistic Director, Dr. Warren Mok.

They are joined by 30 Mainland and Hong Kong artists, the Opera Hong Kong Chorus and Children Chorus, and the Opera Hong Kong Orchestra conducted by Charles-Olivieri Munroe.

Opera Hong Kong will close out its 2023 season with Puccini’s “Tosca” from Oct. 11-15. The double cast includes sopranos Oksana Dyka and Anna Nechaeva, tenors Roberto Aronica and Rame Lahaj, baritone Claudio Sgura and others with Yves Abel conducting.
