Opera De Toulon Unveils 2019-20 Season

The Opera de Toulon has announced its 2019-20 Season featuring up and coming signers and two musicals.

Gustavo Porta, Devid Cecconi, and Cellia Costea lead a revival of Giordano’s “Andrea Chenier” with Jurjen Hempel conducting.

Performance Dates: Oct. 11-15, 2019 

Dalia Constantin, Jasmine Roy, Charlotte Ruby, Alyssa Landry, Scott Emerson, Grégory Garell, Jérôme Pradon, Sinan Bertrand, and Bastien Jacquemart star in Sondheim’s “Into the Woods.

Performance Dates: Nov.9 & 10, 2019

 Chloé Dufresne conducts Yves Coudray’s production of the double bill “Le Songe d’une Nuit d’Ete” and “Pomme d’Api.” The production stars Clara Leloup, Amélie Tatti, Matthieu Justine, and Pierre-Emmanuel Roubet.

Performance Dates: Nov. 16, 2019 

Bernard Pisani directs a new production of Bizet’s “Les Pêcheurs de Perles” with Anaïs Constans, Reinoud Van Mechelen, Jérôme Boutillier, and Jacques-Greg Belobo. Robert Tuohy conducts.

Performance Dates: Dec. 27-31, 2019 

Marie-Ève Munger, Ève-Maud Hubeaux, Francisco Brito, Armando Noguera, and Thomas Dear star in Rossini’s “Le Comte Ory” with Jurjen Hempel conducting.

Performance Dates: Jan. 24-28, 2020

Larry Blank conducts “South Pacific” in a production by Olivier Bénézech. Emma Williams, Jasmine Roy, Maxime de Toledo, Jonathan Winsby,  Jérôme Pradon, and Thomas Boutilier star.

Performance Dates: March 27-31, 2020 

The season concludes with Tchaikovsky’s “The Queen of Spades” starring Marie-Ange Todorovitch, Elena Bezgodkova, Eva Zaïcik, Ivan Gyngazov, Alexander Kasyanov, and Serban Vasile. Oliver Py directs the production with Jurjen Hempel conducting.

Performance Dates: April 21-26, 2020
