Opéra de Paris Announces New Cast Change for ‘Iphigénie en Tauride’

By Francisco Salazar

The Opéra de Paris has announced that Jacques Imbrailo has withdrawn from the upcoming production of Gluck’s “Iphigénie en Tauride.”

As a result, the role of Oreste will be performed by Jarrett Ott, who will be making his Paris Opera debut.

The American baritone has performed at the Santa Fe Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and the Stuttgart Stattsoper. This season he will be making his Bayerische Staatsoper debut and will also perform at the Lille Opera and the Luxembourg Grand Theatre.

This is second the cast change for the production. Previously, the company announced that Nicole Chevalier withdrew from the role of Iphigénie and was replaced by Tara Erraught.

“Iphigénie en Tauride” will open at the Palais Garnier on Sept. 14 and is also set to star Julien Behr, Jean‑François Lapointe, and Marianne Croux. Thomas Hengelbrock and Iñaki Encina Oyón will conduct Krzysztof Warlikowski’s new production.
