Opéra de Paris Announces Cast Change for ‘Iphigénie en Tauride’

Opéra de Paris has announced a cast change for its production of Gluck’s “Iphigénie en Tauride.”

The company announced that Nicole Chevalier has withdrawn from the production and as a result, the role of Iphigénie will be performed by Tara Erraught.

Erraught is scheduled to perform at the Paris Opera in “Cendrillon” during the 2021-22 season and has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper, Staatsoper Berlin, Washington National Opera, Baden Baden Festival, and the Salzburg Festival.

Erraught will join a cast that includes Jacques Imbrailo, Julien Behr, Jean‑François Lapointe, Marianne Croux, Jeanne Ireland, and Christophe Gay. Thomas Hengelbrock and Iñaki Encina Oyón conduct the production by Krzysztof Warlikowski.

The production opens on Sept. 14 and runs through Oct. 2, 2021.
