The Opéra de Paris has announced a cast change for its production of “Beatrice di Tenda.”

The company said that Natalia Kutateladze has withdrawn from the production due to illness. As a result, the role of Agnese del Maino will be played by Theresa Kronthaler.

Kronthaler is a German-born mezzo who has performed at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, Theater an der Wien, Komische Oper, and Theater Bremen.

She is set to join a cast that includes Quinn Kelsey, Tamara Wilson, Pene Pati, Amitai Pati, and Taesung Lee. Mark Wigglesworth conducts the production by Peter Sellars.

“Beatrice di Tenda” opens on Feb. 9 and runs through March 7, 2024.
