Opéra de Paris Announces Cast Change for ‘Ariodante’

Opéra de Paris has announced a cast change for its production of “Ariodante.”

The company said that Luca Pisaroni will no longer sing the role of il re di Scozia and will be replaced by Matthew Brook, who is making his Paris debut.

Brook has performed all over Europe, Australia, North and South America, Far East, and has worked with conductors such as Andrew Davis, Harry Bicket, Bernard Labadie, Christophe Rousset, John Nelson, John Eliot Gardiner, and Philippe Herreweghe.

He joins a cast that includes Olga Kulchynska, Emily D’Angelo, Eric Ferring, Christophe Dumaux, Tamara Banjesevic, and Enrico Casari. Robert Carsen directs and Harry Bicket conducts.

“Ariodante” opens on April 20 and will run through May 20, 2023.
