Ópera de Colombia Launches Arts Auction to Fundraise for Virtual 2020-21 Season
By David SalazarÓpera de Colombia will join forces with Fundación Arteria to present an auction “Ópera Viva” with the aim of supporting the virtual opera season in 2020-21.
The auction will take place across three phases. A silent auction will be scheduled between Sept. 21-29 with another honoring the late Gloria Zea set for Sept. 29-Oct. 4. Finally, “Arte para todos” will be realized between Oct. 4-9.
The auction will feature pieces by such contemporary Colombian artists as Carlos Alarcón, Dionisio Araújo, Fernando Arias, Álvaro Barrios, Luis Fernando Bohórquez, Diana Beltrán, Tutua Boshell, Germán Botero, Luz Helena Caballero, Beatriz Caicedo Ayerbe, Fernando Cano Busquets, Ricardo Cárdenas, Santiago Cárdenas, Antonio Caro, John Castles, Carolina Convers, Pilar Copete, María Ximena Devaldenebro, Carlos Duque, Rodrigo Echeverri, Nadir Figueroa, Fanny Finkelmann, Gonzalo Fuenmayor, Jaime Franco, Diana Gamboa, Sair García, Enrique Grau, Claudia Hakim, Santiago Harker, Gloria Herazo, Ana Mercedes Hoyos, Cristo Hoyos, Adrian Ibañez, Carlos Jacanamijoy, María de la Paz Jaramillo, Joseph Kaplan, Miler Lagos, Aurora Lario, Santiago Leal, Luz Ángela Lizarazo, Roberto Lombana, Luis Luna, Guillermo Londoño, Consuelo Manrique, José Horacio Martínez, Adriana Marmorek, Mónica Meira, Diego Mendoza Imbachí, Marco Mojica, Ana Mosseri, Catalina Ortiz, Nadín Ospina, Ana Patricia Palacios, Adriana Ramírez, Carolina Rodríguez Romero, Pedro Ruiz, Carlos Salas, Carlos Salazar Arenas, Alejandro Sánchez, Fredy Saúl Serrano, Jeison Sierra, Gabriel Silva, Pepe Toledo, Mario Vélez, Óscar Villalobos, and Elsa Zambrano.
Ópera de Colombia also announced that it would be delivering its 2020-21 season virtually in three similar phases. First up would be a presentation of “Gianni Schicchi” throughout October. That would be followed by a concert featuring major Colombian singers and a free virtual platform aimed at attracting younger audiences. The auction will help in executing the company’s plans for the 2020-21 season.
