Joyce El-Khoury, Celine Byrne & Melissa Purnell Lead Oper im Steinbruch’s 2026 Season

Oper im Steinbruch has announced that it will present Puccini’s “Tosca” during the 2026 season.

The company will present the opera from July 15 to August 22, 2026.

The opera will be headlined by three divas, including Joyce El-Khoury, Celine Byrne, and Melissa Purnell. They will be joined by Bror Magnus Tødenes, Yongzhao Yu, Adorján Pataki, Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar, and Marco Caria.

Thaddeus Strassberger conducts the production by Valerio Galli.

The festival has previously performed Giacomo Puccini’s “Turandot” in 2015 and 2021 ,as well as Wagner’s “Der Fliegende Holländer” and Verdi’s “Aida.” Other productions have included Recent productions include Bizet’s “Carmen,” Verdi’s “Nabucco,” and Mozart’s “Die Zauberflote.”
