Oper Frankfurt Postpones Zemlinsky’s ‘Der Traumgörge’

The company announced that in order to make the season COVID-19 safer, it will postpone its new production of Zemlinsky’s “Der Traumgörge” to a future season. As a result, the company will replace the production with “Le Vin herbé” by Frank Martin.
Martin’s opera will open on Nov. 22 and will be conducted by Markus Poschner and Nikolai Petersen. The revival production was created by Tilmann Köhler and the work will be performed through Jan. 31.
Oper Frankfurt opened its 2020-21 season earlier in September and has already made numerous changes to its program. The company cut part of its production of “I Puritani” in order to present the work with no intermission. Furthermore, its upcoming production of “Le Grand Macabre” by Ligeti was postponed until the 2023-24 season and replaced by “The Medium.”
