Oper Frankfurt has announced that it will extend the contract of General Director Bernd Loebe for another five-year period.

Loebe has been working as a consultant at the Frankfurt Opera since September 2000, and was subsequently appointed the Artistic Director for the 2002-03 season.

“Personally, I am very happy that I was able to enable contract extension for Bernd Loebe. He has been artistic director of the Frankfurt Opera for 15 years and has kept the house on the road to success over the long term. Bernd Loebe has set national standards by making outstanding productions possible, without losing sight of the Frankfurt audience. I am convinced that he will manage the house with the necessary skill, even during these challenging times, and ensure continuity and stability, ” said the Secretary for Culture Dr. Ina Hartwig in a company statement.

The new contract will run until 2028.
