Oper Frankfurt, Asmik Grigorian & Michael Spyres Among 2024 Opernwelt Winners

This year Oper Frankfurt has been voted “Opera House of the Year” for the third year in a row and for the eighth time overall.
The “Singer of the Year” award was given to John Osborn for his portrayal of Éléazar in the “La Juive” and Asmik Grigorian for her portrayals of “Salome” in Hamburg, “Turandot” in Vienna, and Lisa in “Pique Dame” in Munich.
The premiere of the year was “Dora” by composer Bernhard Lang while the rediscovery of the year was awarded to “Fausto” by Louise Bertin. Lydia Steier was voted “Director of the Year” for her production of “Aida” in Frankfurt. Matthew Wild’s Frankfurt “Tannhäuser” shared the “Performance of the Year” title with Lorenzo Fiorini’s “Moses and Aron” in Bonn.
