Clément Lonca has been appointed Erster Kapellmeister at Oper Bern from 2025-26.

Lonca has conducted at the Opéra national de Lyon as well as with the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire, Opéra de Nantes, Theater an der Wien, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, and Salzburger Festspiele.

He has also worked with the Wiener Staatsoper, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Théâtre de Metz, and Opera Fuoco. He was selected for the Gstaad Conducting Academy of the Menuhin Festival 2021, where he was mentored by Johannes Schlaefli and Jaap van Zweden.

Lonca is passionate about a wide range of repertoire from baroque to contemporary music. He is a graduate of the HEM Genève in 2020 with a Master’s degree in Orchestral conducting.
