Odesa Opera to Honor Late Tenor Vladislav Gorai

The Odesa Opera is set to honor the late tenor Vladislav Gorai.

The company announced that on June 11, from 10:00 to 12:00, it will hold a farewell ceremony at the Odesa National Opera Hall. Then, on June 15, the company will dedicate a performance of “Rigoletto” to the tenor. The Verdi opera was one of Gorai’s signature roles.

The company also noted that in the tenor’s hometown, Malyn, there will be a service on June 12 at the Church of the city of Malyn.

Gorai was killed during a volunteer mission in the northern region of Sumy bordering Russia on June 8, 2025.

The tenor became an ensemble member of the Odesa Opera in 1993 and went on to perform internationally in Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Lyon, Strasbourg, and Zurich.
