Northwestern University Bienen School of Music Appoints Norman Reinhardt as Artist-in-Residence in Voice

By David Salazar

Northwestern University Bienen School of Music has announced that tenor Norman Reinhardt will be joining its vocal faculty and has been appointed artist-in-residence of voice, effective Sept. 1, 2024.

Reinhardt is the co-founder of Living Opera, a multimedia startup that aims to empower and educate artists at every stage of their careers.

“I am thrilled to join the Bienen School of Music while continuing my international performance career as I always have,” Reinhardt told OperaWire. “Teaching and consulting through Living Opera, the platform I co-founded in 2020 dedicated to empowering artists with the tools and support they need, has ignited a deep passion in me for helping artists in a more hands-on way. I am honored to work with the students at Northwestern, providing them with insights from my active participation in the evolving opera landscape. This opportunity allows me to share my experience and knowledge with the next generation of performers during this transformative time in the industry.”

As a performer, the tenor has appeared with such organizations as Shenzhen Opera and Dance Theater,  Salzburg Festival, Theater an der Wien, Teatro Real, Semperoper Dresden, Berlin State Opera, Paris Champs Elysees, Festival Baden Baden, Houston Grand Opera, Staatsoper Hamburg, and the English National Opera, among many others.
