Niamh O’Sullivan, Emma Bell, Michael Mayes, Christine Rice & Nardus Williams Lead English National Opera’s 2025-26 Season

The English National Opera has announced its 2025-26 season.

The season opens with “Mozart’s Women: A Musical Journey,” which will be directed by ENO’s Artistic Director Annilese Miskimmon and will star international opera soloists.

The concert will be hosted by TV and radio presenter Lauren Laverne and filmed for future broadcast on Sky Arts TV.

Performance Date: Sept. 12, 2025


Deepa Johnny, Aaron Godfrey-Mayes, Charles Rice, Simon Bailey, and David Ireland star in Rossini’s “Cinderella.” Yi-Chen Lin conducts the new production by Julia Burbach.

Performance Dates: Sept. 27-Oct. 14, 2025


Niamh O’Sullivan stars in Bizet’s “Carmen” with John Findon, Cory McGee, and Ava Dodd. Clelia Cafiero and Olivia Clarke conduct the production by Calixto Bieito.

Performance Date: Oct. 8-Nov. 5, 2025


Britten’s “Albert Herring” will star Emma Bell, Carolyn Dobbin, Aoife Miskelly, Eddie Wade, Mark Le Brocq, Sir Willard White, Dan D’Souza, Caspar Singh, Anna Elizabeth Cooper, and Leah-Marian Jones. Daniel Cohen conducts the production by Antony McDonald.

Performance Date: Oct. 13-22, 2025


Kerem Hasan conducts Jake Heggie’s “Dead Man Walking” in a new production by Annilese Miskimmon. Christine Rice, Michael Mayes, Sarah Connolly, and Madeline Boreham star.

Performance Date: Nov. 1-18, 2025


Nardus Williams, Hugh Cutting, Ru Charlesworth, Jake Ingbar, Katie Bray, and William Thomas star in Handel’s “Partenope.” Christian Curnyn conducts the production by Christopher Alden.

Performance Date: Nov. 20-Dec. 6, 2025


Matthew Kofi Waldren conducts Gilbert and Sullivan’s “HMS Pinafore”  in a production by Cal McCrystal. Neal Davies, John Savournin, Thomas Atkins, Trevor Eliot Bowes, Marcus Farnsworth, Nicholas Crawley, Henna Mun, Bethan Langford, Rhonda Browne, and Spencer Darlaston-Jones.

Performance Date: Dec. 4, 2025-Feb. 7, 2026


Samantha Clarke, Bethany Horak-Hallett, Joshua Blue, Darwin Prakash, Andrew Foster-Williams, and Ailish Tynan star in Mozart’s “Cosi fan tutte.” Dinis Sousa conducts the production by Phelim McDermott.

Performance Dates: Feb. 6-21, 2026


Opera Favorites will showcase Madeline Boreham and Zwakele Tshabalala. The Chorus of English National Opera will perform in collaboration with the Hallé Orchestra.

Performance Dates: June 29, 2026


“Angel’s Bone” by Du Yun and librettist Royce Vavrek will be presented in a production by Kip Williams. The opera will be presented in collaboration with Factory International and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra at Aviva Studios, Manchester.

Performance Dates: Spring 2026
