New York City Opera to Present ‘From Vienna to Broadway!’

By Francisco Salazar

New York City Opera’s Bryant Park summer series is set to continue with “From Vienna to Broadway!”

The concert will feature a charming review of songs, duets, and ensembles that takes the audience on a musical journey through the 20th century. Among the composers featured in the concert will be Lehar, Sondheim, Herbert, Romberg, Gershwin, Loesser, and Bernstein.

In a statement, General Director Michael Capasso said, “We are delighted to return as a part Bryant Park Picnic Performances presented by Bank of America for the 8th consecutive year. Our increasingly elaborate productions have drawn thousands of New Yorkers and tourists for free. It is truly ‘The People’s Opera.’”

The concert is set to take place on August 18, 2023
