New York City Opera Postpones ‘The Seven Deadly Sins’ & ‘Mahagonny Songspiel’

The New York City Opera has postponed its upcoming production of Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht’s double bill “The Seven Deadly Sins” & “Mahagonny Songspiel.”

The works were originally set to be performed on April 20 through 24, 2022 at the Theater at John Jay College.

Kamal Kahn was set to conduct the performances which should have starred Michael Boley, Dani Goldstein, Aaron-Casey Gould, Rebecca L. Hargrove, Lauren Hoffmeier, Dimitrie Lazich, Melanie Long, and Tim Roller.

The production, which will be performed at a later date, will be seen in a staging originally seen at the Teatro alla Scala, Milano.

The New York City Opera next performs a reduced version of “The Barber of Seville” on May 8, 2022.
