New York City Opera to Present ‘Il Barbiere di Siviglia’

New York City Opera is set to present a series of family-friendly performances of Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” at the Theater at St. Jean’s this May.

The showcases, which will both take place on May 8, 2022, will also feature a Q & A with the cast following each performance. No cast was provided on the official press release or website for the performance.

The opera will be narrated by New York City Opera General Director Michael Capasso and is presented as part of the company’s “Opera for Kids! Program. Each performance is set to last a total of 75 minutes. The opera will be performed in its original Italian.

The company is also set to present a double bill of “The Seven Deadly Sins” and “Mahagonny Songspiel” on April 20 and 24, 2022.
