New England Conservatory Announces Fall Season 2024

The New England Conservatory (NEC) has announced its 2024 fall season.
The campus-wide festival celebrates American modernism. This article only features classical vocal works.
Tenor Lawrence Brownlee conducts a masterclass with NEC students.

Shiyu Zhuo presents a program of Copland, Poulenc, Lingbo Ma, Mozart, and Richard Strauss, assisted by pianist Tanya Blaich.

Albanians Fighting Cancer USA presents a gala concert with tenor Rame Lahaj. He is accompanied by Genc Tukici, Proceeds will benefit the organization.

Up next is “Liederabend LXXIII.” This series features songs in a variety of languages—not only German—dating from the 19th century up to the present day.

The “Seeger/Ives Festival” is a week-long tribute to American musical innovation. Events feature performances of the Ives’ music composers music, “I, Too, Sing America: Ruth Crawford Seeger and Other Untold Stories of America,” as well as five performances of John Musto and Mark Campbell’s opera “Later the Same Evening.”

The “Song and Verse” recital series is presented by NEC undergraduate singers.

The NEC Symphonic Choir and organist Thomas Handel perform Maurice Duruflé’s “Requiem,” at the Church of the Covenant. Erica J. Washburn conducts.

Mezzo-soprano Sianna Monti gives a graduation recital. Monti studies voice with Jane Eaglen and Carole Haber, and is the recipient of a scholarship made possible by the Gladys Miller Voice Scholarship Fund.
