NEMPAC Announces Second Performance of 9th Season

NEMPAC Opera has announced the second performance of its ninth season, entitled “Pop-Up Opera: In the Streets of Boston’s Little Italy and Charlestown.”

The showcase is set to take place on Saturday, August 8 between 10 a.m. – 2: 15 a.m. throughout Charlestown and North End of Boston.

Audiences will get a chance to hear highlights from the famed Rossini opera with such artists as Wes Hunter as Almaviva, Elizabeth Kinder as Rosina, and Gray Leiper as Figaro. Katie Barr will play at the piano. Performers will be wearing masks in accordance with social distancing protocols.

The concert will begin at 10 a.m. in Charlestown with showcases at City Square Park, Bunker Hill Barbershop, Bunker Hill Monument, the Training Field in Winthrop Square, and the USS Constitution.

From there the group will head over to the North End of Boston to hear performances a Charter Street Park, the Paul Revere Statue in the Prado Mall, and at Table 77 Balcony at Tresca.

The company previously presented the program at the same locations on June 6, 2020.
