National Symphony Orchestra to Showcase Special Performances of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9

The National Symphony Orchestra is set to present Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 this June as part of an all-Beethoven series.

The performance will feature such soloists as Camilla Tilling, Kelley O’Connor, Issachah Savage, and Hanno Müller—Brachmann; Tilling and Müller-Brachmann will be making their debuts with the organization. Gianandrea Noseda leads the ensemble and the Washington Chorus under the artistic direction of Eugene Rogers.

The program will also feature Beethoven’s “Prometheus” Overture and George Walker’s “Sinfonia No. 3.

The program will be presented three times starting on June 1, 2023, followed by two performances on June 2 and 3, 2023. All three showcases will be presented at Kennedy Center Concert Hall.

This concert program will be the last of five total showcases featuring symphonies and other orchestral works by Beethoven, Walker, and William Grant Still.
