Natalie Dessay, Jakub Józef Orliński, Joyce DiDonato & Sabine Devieilhe Lead Théâtre des Champs-Elysées’s 2022-23 Season

The Théâtre des Champs-Elysées has announced its 2022-23 season featuring productions, operas in concerts, recitals, and orchestra performances.

Here is a look at the vocal performances this season.

Productions 

Gluck’s “Orphée et Eurydice” will star Jakub Józef Orliński and Regula Mühlemann. Thomas Hengelbrock conducts the production by Robert Carsen which also stars Elena Galitskaya.

Performance Dates: Sept. 21-Oct. 1, 2022

Offenbach’s “La Périchole” will be conducted by Marc Minkowski and directed by Marianne Crebassa, Antoinette Dennefeld, Stanislas de Barbeyrac, Alexandre Duhamel, Laurent Naouri, Rodolphe Briand, Lionel Lhote, Chloé Briot, Alix Le Saux, Eléonore Pancrazi, and Natalie Pérez star.

Performance Dates: Nov. 13-27, 2022

“Une Cenerentola d’après Rossini”  will be conducted by Alphonse Cemin with Daniele Menghini directing.  Juliette Mey, Anne-Sophie Vincent, Sergio Villegas-Galvain, Nicolas Brooymans, Violette Polchi, Laurène Paternò, and Antoine Foulon star.

Performance Dates: Jan. 29-Feb. 5, 2023

Stravinsky’s “Le Rossignol” and Poulenc’s “Les Mamelles de Tirésias” will be conducted by François-Xavier Roth and directed by Olivier Py. Sabine Devieilhe, Cyrille Dubois, Chantal Santon, Laurent Naouri, Victor Sicard, Rodolphe Briand, Francesco Salvadori, Jean-Sébastien Bou, and Lucile Richardot star. 

Performance Dates: March 10-19, 2023

Puccini’s “La Bohème” will star Selene Zanetti and Pene Pati. Lorenzo Viotti conducts the production by Eric Ruf with Alexandre Duhamel,
Francesco Salvadori, William Thomas, Amina Edris, Marc Labonnette, and Rodolphe Briand.

Performance Dates: June 15-24, 2023

Opera in Concert 

Gluck’s “Iphigénie en Aulide” will star Stéphanie D’Oustrac, Judith van Wanroij, Cyrille Dubois, Tassis Christoyannis, Jean-Sébastien Bou, David Witczak, Anne-Sophie Petit, Jehanne Amzal, and Marine Lafdal-Franc. Julien Chauvin conducts Le Concert de la Loge.

Performance Date: Oct. 7, 2022

Rameau’s “Zoroastre” will star Jodie Devos, Véronique Gens, Reinoud Van Mechelen, Tassis Christoyannis, Mathias Vidal, David Witczak, Gwendoline Blondeel, and Marine Lafdal-Franc. The Les Ambassadeurs~La Grande Ecurie and Chœur de chambre de Namur will be conducted by Alexis Kossenko.

Performance Dates: Oct. 16, 2022

Handel’s “Ariodante” will star Franco Fagioli, Melissa Petit, Sarah Gilford, Luciana Mancini, Nicholas Phan, and Alex Rosen. Il Pomo d’Oro is conducted by George Petrou.

Performance Dates: Nov. 7, 2022

Nicole Car, Jean-François Borras, Ekaterina Semenchuk, and Etienne Dupuis star Massenet’s “Hérodiade” with the Orchestre et Chœurs de l’Opéra National de Lyon and Daniele Rustioni.

Amina Edris, Eléonore Pancrazi, Amitai Pati, and Alexandre Duhamel perform Mozart’s “Requiem” with the Orchestre de chambre de Paris and conductor Hervé Niquet.

Performance Date: Dec. 2, 2022

Delibes’ “Lakmé” stars  Sabine Devieilhe, Cyrille Dubois, Fleur Barron, Pierre Doyen, Lionel Lhote, Erminie Blondel, Charlotte Bonnet, and Svetlana Lifar. The Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo will be conducted by Laurent Campellone.

Performance Date: Dec. 14, 2022

Pergolèse’s Stabat Mater will star Bruno de Sá, Carlo Vistoli with Orchestre National d’Auvergne and Thibault Noally conducting.

Lully’s “Thésée” will be conducted by Christophe Rousset and will star Mathias Vidal, Karine Deshayes, Deborah Cachet, Marie Lys, Bénédicte Tauran, Robert Getchell, Fabien Hyon, and Philippe Estèphe.

Performance Date: March 22, 2023

Julia Lezhneva, Emőke Baráth, Sandrine Piau, Paolo Fanale, Vittorio Prato, and Andrew Murphy star in Mozart’s “Così fan tutte.” The Kammerorchester Basel and Basler Madrigalisten will be led by Giovanni Antonini.

Véronique Gens, Cyrille Dubois, Judith van Wanroij, Thomas Dolié, David Witczak, Hélène Carpentier, Chloé Briot, Adrien Fournaison, Floriane Hasler, David Tricou, Fabien Hyon, Jehanne Amzal, and Marine Lafdal-Franc star in Charpentier’s “Médée” with Hervé Niquet conducting.

Performance Date: March 27, 2023

Kateryna Kasper, Marie Henriette Reinhold, Julian Habermann, and Johannes Kammler perform Mozart’s Requiem with the Chœur et orchestre du Gaechinger Cantorey and conductor.

Performance Date: March 28, 2023

Bellini’s “I Puritani” will star Jessica Pratt, Xabier Anduaga, Gabriele Viviani, and Krzysztof Bączyk. The Orchestre de chambre de Paris and Chœur Les Eléments will be conducted by Giacomo Sagripanti.

Performance Date: April 1, 2023

Jodie Devos stars in teh title role of Donizetti’s “La Fille du Régiment” with Sahy Ratia, Marc Labonnette, Doris Lamprecht, Philippe Ermelier, Felicity Lott, and Matthieu Justine. The Orchestre de la Garde républicaine will be led by Hervé Niquet.

Ekaterina Bakanova, Ana Maria Labin, Krystian Adam, and Luigi De Donato lead Messe en ut Mozart with the Ensemble Matheus and Jean-Christophe Spinosi.

Monteverdi’s “L’Incoronazione di Poppea” will star David Hansen, Mari Eriksmoen, Rihab Chaieb, Emiliano Gonzalez Toro, Lauranne Oliva, Philippe Talbot, Anders Dahlin, Nicolas Brooymans, Mathias Vidal, Natalie Pérez,and Mathilde Etienne.

Vivaldi’s “Orlando furioso” will be conducted by Jean-Christophe Spinosi and star Carlo Vistoli, Marie-Nicole Lemieux, Filippo Mineccia, Margherita Maria Sala, Ana Maria Labin, and Luigi De Donato.

Bertin “Fausto” will star Karine Deshayes, Karina Gauvin, Ante Jerkunica, Nico Darmanin, Marie Gautrot, Diana Axentii, and Thibault de Damas. Les Talens Lyriques and Chœur de la Radio Flamande will be conducted by Christophe Rousset.

Massenet’s rarely performed work “Grisélidis” will star Vannina Santoni, Frédéric Antoun, Thomas Dolié, Tassis Christoyannis, Antoinette Dennefeld, Adèle Charvet, Thibault de Damas, and Adrien Fournaison. The Chœur et orchestre de l’Opéra national and Montpellier Occitanie will be conducted by Jean-Marie Zeitouni.
