The Opéra National de Paris has announced its 2026-27 season.

Opera

Tyshawn Sorey’s Perle noire : méditations pour Joséphine” will star Julia Bullock and Tyshawn Sorey on piano. Peter Sellars directs.

Performance Dates: Sept. 9-19, 2026


Lea Desandre, Marina Viotti, Huw Montague Rendall, Andrzej Filończyk, Jack Swanson, Josh Lovell, Nicola Alaimo, and Adolfo Corrado star in Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia.” Jader Bignamini and François López-Ferrer conduct.

John Osborn leads Thomas’ “Hamlet” with Adela Zaharia, Clémentine Margaine, Jean Teitgen, Julien Henric, and Laurent Naouri. Michael Schønwandt conducts

Wagner’s “Götterdämmerung” will be directed by Calixto Bieito and will star Andreas Schager, Johannes Martin Kränzle, Mika Kares, Brian Mulligan, Tamara Wilson, Sinead Campbell Wallace, and Eve-Maud Hubeaux.

The Ring Cycle 

Pablo Heras-Casado will conduct the full Ring Cycle in Calixto Bieito’s production.

“Das Rheingold” will star Christopher Maltman, Florent Mbia, Matthew Cairns, Simon O’Neill, Kwangchul Young, Mika Kares, Brian Mulligan, Gerhard Siegel, Eve-Maud Hubeaux, Eliza Boom, and Marie-Nicole Lemieux.

“Die Walküre” will star Stanislas de Barbeyrac, Christopher Maltman, Günther Groissböck, Elza van den Heever, Tamara Wilson, and Eve-Maud Hubeaux.

Two casts will lead Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” with Peter Mattei, Davide Luciano, Slávka Zámečníková, Jeanine De Bique, Amitai Pati, Manase Latu, Kwangchul Youn, Alexander Tsymbalyuk, Jacquelyn Stucker, Tara Erraught, Joshua Bloom, Vartan Gabrielian, Morgan-Andrew King, Elena Villalón, Ilanah Lobel-Torres, and Patricia Nolz.

Finnegan Downie Dear and Stephanie Childress conduct the production by Louisa Proske.

Performance Dates: Jan. 28-June 24, 2027


Simone Young and Aliisa Neige Barrière lead Janáček’s “Katia Kabanova” with Corinne Winters, John Daszak, Doris Soffel, Sean Panikkar, Peixin Chen, Thomas Atkins, Seray Pinar, and Marianne Chandelier.

Performance Dates: Jan. 27-Feb. 13, 2027


Benjamin Bernheim and Michael Spyres lead Massenet’s “Werther” alongside Aigul Akhmetshina, Gordon Bintner, Sandra Hamaoui, and Johanna Wallroth. Nathalie Stutzmann conducts the production by Robert Carsen.

Performance Dates: Feb. 11-March 12, 2027


The company will hold a “Gala for Régine Crespin” with scenes from “Die Walkure,” “Lohengrin,” “Otello,” “Tosca,” and “Les Nuits d’été.” The gala will showcase Ekaterina Gubanova, Stanislas de Barbeyrac, Marina Rebeka, Lea Desandre, Sondra Radvanovsky, and Ludovic Tézier. Nathalie Stutzmann conducts the production by Yves Lenoir.

Performance Date:  Feb. 23, 2027


“Ce qui brûle en silence” will be conducted by Evann Loget-Raymond and directed by Victoria Sitjà. The production feature music by Philippe Fénelon, Strozzi and Monteverdi.

Shostakovich’s “Lady Macbeth de Mtsensk” will star Aušrinė Stundytė, Pavel Černoch, Dmitry Ulyanov, Oleksiy Palchykov, Ekaterina Sannikova, Marcel Beekman, and Victoria Karkacheva. Ingo Metzmacher conducts.

Antonello Manacorda conducts Mozart’s “Idomeneo” in a new production by Wajdi Mouawad. The cast will include Allan Clayton, Lea Desandre, Johanna Wallroth, Elsa Dreisig, Laurence Kilsby, Bergsvein Toverud, and Morgan-Andrew King.
