
Nadine Sierra Hints at a New Met Opera Role in Coming Season
By Francisco SalazarNadien Sierra is set to add another role to her Met Opera repertoire in a coming season.
The New York Times has revealed that the soprano is set to perform Massenet’s “Manon,” a role that she has performed at the Gran Teatre del Liceu and Opera de Bordeaux.
Critics have praised her interpretation and said she is “an outstanding and very homogeneous voice, and no problems with the tessitura in the upper range.”
The soprano also hinted at performing the Countess in “Le Nozze di Figaro,” after having performed Susanna at the Met to great acclaim.
The soprano is currently celebrating 10 years at the Met and is performing “La Sonnambula” in a new production directed by Rolando Villazon and also starring Xabier Anduaga.
