Opernhaus Zürich will live stream two of its productions in February 2021. Due to the Swiss government’s COVID-19 regulations, both productions will be performed without a live public.

Performances will be viewable on the Opernhaus Zürich’s website.

First up will be Franz Schubert’s “Winterreise.” Hans Zender’s rearrangement of Schubert’s cycle of 24 songs will be performed by tenor Mauro Peter. Benjamin Schneider will conduct the Philharmonia Zürich in the production by Rufus Didwiszus. The performance will also feature the Ballett Zürich.

Broadcast date: Feb. 13, 2021, at 7 p.m. CET.

A production of Gluck’s opera “Orphée et Euridice” will follow. The opera will star Russian mezzo-soprano Nadezhda Karyazina in the role of Orphée, Swiss-Belgian soprano Chiara Skerath as Euridice, and soprano Alice Duport-Percier as L’Amour. Stefano Montanari will conduct the production by Christoph Marthaler.

Broadcast date: Feb. 14, 2021, at 7 p.m. CET.
