Music of the Americas Announces Fall 2022 Slate

The Music of the Americas has announced its fall slate of concerts and talks.

For the purposes of this article, our focus will be solely on vocal and operatic showcases. Concerts and performances will take place in New York, with one in Washington DC. There will also be video versions of events available for later viewing.

Kicking things off will be a conversation with Ignacio García-Belenguer Laita, General Director of the Madrid’s Teatro Real, as the company prepares for its Carnegie Hall debut.

Performance Date: Sept. 13, 2022

Ñomongetá,” the first opera in Guaraní, will be presented in collaboration with Opera Hispánica and the Museum of the American Indian. The work will be performed by José Mongelós and directed by Chia Patiño.

Performance Date: Sept. 18 & 24 (Washington DC), 2022 

Baritone Jean-Bernard Cerin will showcase his research on Caribbean classical music.

Performance Date: Nov. 11, 2022
