Opéra National de Paris has announced the creation of a new choral training program for children aged 12 and over.
The choral program will provide opportunities for participation in the lyrical program and scenes at the Palais Garnier and Opéra Bastille. Students will also be given vocal and movement training, specific to theatrical expression.
“This project is born from the conviction that music, singing, and the theater, can transformer our lives,” said Alexander Neef, general director of the Opéra National de Paris, per an official press release. “Offering this program to aspiring young students will offer them a space for expression, a horizon and opportunity to become the artists of tomorrow. It’s essential that the Opéra de Paris structures an action plan for the long term.”
Next up is the recruitment of a Chorus Master in May 2025. Then the program will be organized in September 2025, with audition and recruitment processes announced sometime in Autumn 2025. The first students will commence their training in September 2026.
