Michele Mariotti Elected Member of Accademico Effettivo dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia

Michele Mariotti, Music Director of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma has been elected a full member of the Accademico Effettivo dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.

The recognition is give for an artistic career conducted at the highest levels and a deep commitment to the diffusion of musical culture.

In a statement congratulating the conductor, the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and its Superintendent, Francesco Giambrone said, “This is a significant recognition coming from a prestigious institution and reflecting our Music Director’s commitment on both the national and international stages. It confirms a journey marked by continuous experimentation and artistic growth—a journey that has also involved our own theatre, to which he makes a constant and ongoing contribution. For this reason, we are particularly happy and proud.”

Mariotti was recently named Principal conductor of the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai. Through his career, he has been Music Director of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna. He has also conducted at the Teatro alla Scala, Paris Opera, Wiener Staatsoper, Metropolitan Opera, and Royal Opera House, among others.
