Michael Spyres, Rihab Chaieb, Emily Pogorelc, Lawrence Brownlee, Elizabeth Llewellyn Headline Vocal Arts DC’s 2022-23 Season

Vocal Arts DC has announced its 2022-23 season.

The season opens with a recital featuring tenor Michael Spyres and pianist Mathieu Pordoy. The program will include music by Beethoven, Berlioz, and Liszt.

Performance Date: Oct. 10, 2022 

Rihab Chaieb and Brian Zeger will present music by Schumann, Ravel, Bizet, Aubert, Golijov, Ricketts, and songs from Chaieb’s Arabic heritage.

Performance Date: Dec. 8, 2022

Emily Pogorelc and Chris Reynolds will showcase music by Wolf, Lili Boulanger, and Schwanter.

Performance Date: Feb. 19, 2023

The next recital will star Lawrence Brownlee and Kevin J. Miller as they take on music by Capers, Barnes, Simon, Ragland, Ohkpeblo, Boykin, Spencer, Montgomery, Sneed, and Hailstork.

Performance Date: March 26, 2023

Closing out the season will be Elizabeth Llewellyn and Simon Lepper as they take on music by Coleridge-Taylor, Elgar, Vaughan Williams, Stanford, and Mahler.

Performance Date: April 17, 2023
