Harry Bicket & Elizabeth Llewellyn Honored by Queen Elizabeth

Among the honorees, conductor Harry Bicket has received the OBE, and soprano Elizabeth Llewellyn has received the MBE.
The list also includes fashion designer Stella McCartney, former English soccer player Rio Ferdinand, and Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler as well as Actor Damian Lewis who is also being honored as an OBE, the order of the British Empire award.
Bicket is the Artistic Director of the English Concert, Music Director of the Santa Fe Opera, and Honorary Member of the Royal Academy of Music while Llewellyn is an international soprano who has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Welsh National Opera, and Grange Park Opera, among others.
The latest jubilee celebrates Queen Elizabeth’s 70th anniversary since she took the throne in 1952. She has surpassed Queen Victoria to claim the title of the U.K.’s longest-reigning monarch and the first U.K. monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. Starting on Thursday and continuing through Sunday, the Queen will be feted with parades, a concert at the palace, and other celebrations to honor her historic reign.
