Baritone Michael Kelly is set to headline “Neighbors, Lovers, and Friends” at the Cutting Edge Concerts New Music Festival on Sept. 9, 2023.
The showcase, which will take place at the Salmagundi Club in New York City, will feature music by Victoria Bond, John Cage, Elliott Carter, John Corigliano, David Del Tredici, John Glover, John Musto, and Astor Piazzolla.
Kelly will be joined by pianist Bradley Moore in the performance, which kicks off at 7:30 p.m. local time.
“I am so thrilled to co-present this concert with The Village Trip,” said Victoria Bond, founder and artistic director of Cutting Edge Concerts New Music Festival in an official press statement. “As a long-time Villager myself, it is wonderful to share the world premiere of my song cycle, From an Antique Land, on this program, alongside music by other Greenwich Village denizens including Elliott Carter, John Corigliano, Astor Piazzolla and others.”
The baritone has performed with such organizations as Santa Fe Opera, Carnegie Hall, the New York City Opera, Seattle Symphony, the Mostly Mozart Festival, New World Symphony, and the Cincinnati May Festival.
