Michael Kelly Headlines Bonus Online Concert for Bright Shiny Things

Bright Shiny Things is set to stream a performance of Schubert’s “Die Schöne Müllerin” on Oct. 10, 2020.

The concert will feature the first collaboration between baritone Michael Kelly, guitarist-composer David Leisner, and visual artists Kevork Mourad.

Kelly has performed with such organizations as the Cleveland Orchestra, Detroit Symphony, Houston Symphony, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, The Mostly Mozart Festival, Opernhaus Zurich, Chicago Opera Theater, Gotham Chamber Opera, Mark Morris Dance Group, Boston Early Music Festival, and Ars Lyrica, among others.

Part of the proceeds for the concert will go to “It Gets Better Project,” an organization preventing teen suicide in the LGBTQ+ youth community.

This is the latest in a series of online concerts. Past performances have featured such artists as Blythe Gaissert, Kamala Sankarum, and Laquita Mitchell, Adrienne Danrich. This is Kelly’s fifth appearance in the series.
