Michael Fabiano, Nicole Cabell, Cecilia Duarte Headline Tucson Desert Song Festival’s 2024 Season

The Tucson Desert Song Festival has unveiled its 2024 season.

First up is “Blue Heron: Portraits in Song – Music from Renaissance Italy,” which features works by Johannes Ciconia, Guillaume Du Fay, Antoine Busnoys, and Heinrich Isaac, among others.

Performance Dates: Jan. 14, 2024

Next up is “Mozart & Hagen” featuring True Concord Voices & Orchestra. The showcase will include Mozart’s C-minor Mass and Hagen’s “Notebooks of Leonardo Da Vinci.”

Performance Dates: Jan. 26-28, 2024

Mezzo Cecilia Duarte will perform from her album “Reencuentros” alongside Trio Chapultepec and percussionist Jesús Pacheco. The showcase also features guitarist Misael Barraza-Díaz in the second half.

Performance Dates: Jan. 26, 2024

Michael Fabiano and pianist Laurent Philippe will world premiere Jimmy López Bellido’s “Quiet Poems.”

Performance Dates: Feb. 14 & 15, 2024

The company will feature the Tucson Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Verdi’s “Requiem with José Luis Gomez conducting.

Performance Dates: March 22, 2024

Nicole Cabell joins True Concord Voices & Orchestra in a program of music by Bernstein and Poulenc.

Performance Dates: April 5-7, 2024

Nicole Cabell will also make her Tucson Desert Song Festival debut with a recital program featuring works by Puccini, Gounod, Gershwin, Jerome Kern, and Cole Porter.
