Metropolitan Opera to Present ‘El Último Sueño de Frida y Diego’ in HD

The Metropolitan Opera is set to conclude its Live in HD series with “El Último Sueño de Frida y Diego” on May 30, 2026.
The company will present Gabriela Lena Frank and Nilo Cruz’s work in a new production by Deborah Colker. Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducts the opera which will star mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard as Frida and baritone Carlos Álvarez as Diego.
The cast also features soprano Gabriella Reyes as Catrina and countertenor Nils Wanderer.
Gary Halvorson will direct the Live in HD presentation for cinemas, and Angel Blue will host the transmission, sharing exclusive behind-the-scenes content and interviews during intermission.
