
Metropolitan Opera Announces Another Cast Change for ‘Aida’
By Francisco SalazarThe Metropolitan Opera has announced a cast change for “Aida.”
The company said that Harold Wilson will sing The King in the remaining January performances of Verdi’s “Aida” at the Metropolitan Opera. Morris Robinson will take over the remaining performances of Ramfis replacing the originally scheduled Dmitry Belosselskiy.
Belosselskiy sang the first performance of the run on Dec. 31, but later canceled on Jan. 4 due to illness.
“Aida” is set to run through Jan. 25 with the final performance in HD. The opera returns in March with Christina Nilsson in the title role and Brian Jagde as Radamès. The work will then return in April with Angel Blue reprising the title role and Elina Garanca as Amneris.
