
Meghan Kasanders Leads Opera Saratoga’s Educational Tour for ‘Frida Kahlo and the Bravest Niña in El Mundo’
By David SalazarOpera Saratoga has kicked off its Educational Tour for “Frida Kahlo and the Bravest Niña in El Mundo.”
The tour, which features soprano Meghan Kasanders in her directorial debut alongside Music Director Parker Konkle, as they provide young artists to present the work to students in public schools and venues.
“Opera Saratoga has been a home for me. I’ve been a singer in the young artist program, a principal artist, an assistant director, and now a director. Each role has enriched my artistic journey and the skills I’ve gained along the way are ones I will carry with me, both on and off the stage,” Kasanders, who has performed with Virginia Opera, Opera Columbus, and Staatsoper Hannover, among others, said per an official press release.
The tour started on March 8 at the Albany Institute of History & Art as well as the Brookside Museum at Ballston Spa in New York. It continues on March 22 at The Hyde Collection in Glen Falls, NY, and concludes on March 27 at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall in Troy, NY.
