Mécénat Musica Announces First Artist in Residence

Mécénat Musica has announced that soprano Karina Gauvin will be its inaugural Artist in Residence.

As part of her residency, Gauvin will multiply her collaborations with Mécénat Musica organizations.

Among such organizations that the Grammy-nominated soprano has performed with are Orchestre Métropolitain, Ensemble Caprice, Jeunesses Musicales Canada, Festival Classica, Ensemble Vocal Arts-Québec, Concerts noncerto, Clavecin en concert, Orchestre Symphonique de Laval, Orchestre classique de Montréal, Orchestre Symphonique de Longueuil, Société Pro Musica, Festival international de Lanaudière, Les Violons du Roy, Orchestre Symphonique de Québec, Aramusique (Repentigny), Ladies’ Morning Musical Club, Les Boréades de Montréal, I Musici de Montréal, Montreal Chamber Music Festival and Theater of Early Music, among others.

At the start of the pandemic, Gauvin performed in five of Mécénat’s outdoor concerts as part of the company’s “Mini-Concerts Santé” “Mini-Gala Santé” programs.

Mécénat Musica is a cultural program created by donors for donors that makes contributions to support music, health, and culture. During the pandemic, the organization has contributed over $1.5 million for 35 Quebec cultural organizations.
