The Luxon-Rose foundation has been set up.

The new foundation was created by bass Matthew Rose to support the new generation of singers and is also named after the late and iconic baritone Benjamin Luxon, who was a mentor to Rose and whose family have lent support for the initiative.  The foundation gives the most gifted young voices what talent alone cannot supply, the teachers, the time, and the tradition to help them make the leap from promise to mastery.

Programs that the foundation is sponsoring include the Tosti International Singing Academy, which will feature 21 singers, 10 countries, 12 public events in its inaugural year, and The Luxon Amit Singing Bursary, which will hand out five awards of £1,000 each year for singers aged 18–22.

Rose is an international opera singer who has performed at the Royal Opera House, Glyndebourne, and the Metropolitan Opera. Luxon was a cherished British baritones of the twentieth century who performed at the Royal Opera House, Glyndebourne, the Met and La Scala.
