Maryland Lyric Opera To Present ‘Lucia Di Lammermoor’

The Maryland Lyric Opera is set to perform its first fully staged production of Donizetti’s “Lucia di Lammermoor.”

The showcase will be the first addition of a full-scale grand opera production to the Washington-Baltimore region’s opera calendar in recent memory and features rising young stars from the Maryland Lyric Opera Young Artist Institute.

In the title role soprano, Maeve Höglund makes her anticipated role debut, singing the most famous mad scene in opera.  She will be joined by the Edgardo of tenor Yi Li and bass Wei Wu.  South Korean-American baritone SeungHyeon Baek takes on the role of Enrico with Music Director Louis Salemno conducting.

South Korean-American soprano Nayoung Ban leads the second cast in the title role with baritone Daniel Scofield as Enrico and tenor Yongxi Chen in role of Edgardo. Hunter Enoch rounds out the second cast as Raimondo.

The opera will be performed on Jan. 24 through 26, 2019. Maryland
