Mary Bevan & Nicky Spence Headline Leeds Lieder’s ‘A Marvellous Party’

Leeds Lieder is set to present “A Marvellous Party” starring soprano Mary Bevan, tenor Nicky Spence, and pianist Joseph Middleton.

The three will present an evening of songs by Noël Coward, Poulenc, Satie, Quilter, Gershwin, and Rachmaninov. The show is set in the fictional salon of Coward while a colorful party is being held. Closing the concert are two of Coward’s most popular songs: “I went to a marvellous party” and “The party’s over now.”

Both soloists have received multiple awards. Bevan won both the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Young Artist award and the UK Critics’ Circle Award for Exceptional Young Talent in Music and Spence was named BBC Music Magazine Personality of the Year 2022.

This one-of-a-kind concert will take place at Leeds Convseratorie on March 4 at 7.30 p.m. local time.
