Mario Chang, Lauren Fagan, Gwyn Hughes Jones, Annemarie Kremer & Lea Shaw Lead Scottish Opera’s 2025-26 Season

The Scottish Opera has announced its 2025-26 season.

The season opens with a double bill of Ravel’s “L’heure espagnole” and Walton’s “The Bear.” Alexandra Cravero conducts the production by Jacopo Spirei. Lea Shaw, Jamie MacDougall, Daniel Barrett, Edward Jowle, and Luvo Maranti star in Ravel’s production, and Chloe Harris, Daniel Barrett, and Edward Jowle star in Walton’s opera.

Performance Dates: Sept. 4-Nov. 14, 2025


Puccini’s “La bohème” will star Hye-Youn Lee, Mario Chang, Roland Wood, Rhian Lois, Callum Thorpe, Edward Jowle, and Jamie MacDougall. Stuart Stratford and Toby Hession conduct the production by Barbe & Doucet.

Tchaikovsky’s “Heroines & Heroes” will feature selections from “Eugene Onegin,” “Iolanta,” and “The Maid of Orleans.” Stuart Stratford conducts soloists Lauren Fagan, Natalia Kutateladze, Robert Lewis, and Josef Jeongmeen Ahn.

Performance Date: Dec. 10, 2025


“The Great Wave” by Dai Fujikura & Harry Ross will be conducted by Stuart Stratford and directed by Satoshi Miyagi. Daisuke Ohyama, Julieth Lozano Rolong, Shengzhi Ren, Edward Hawkins, Chloe Harris, Luvo Maranti, and Collin Shay star.

Performance Date: Feb 12-21, 2026


Gwyn Hughes Jones and Annemarie Kremer star in Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde” with Rosie Aldridge, Dingle Yandell, Roland Wood, and Mark Le Brocq. Stuart Stratford conducts Justin Way’s production.

Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” will star Edward Jowle, Emyr Wyn Jones, Ava Dodd, Kira Kaplan, Ian Rucker, Alexandra Lowe, Simone McIntosh, and Chloe Harris.
